The SGA Cabinet is composed of student leaders appointed by the Student Government Association President and is responsible for carrying out the various duties of SGA, such as organizing events, providing resources to students, and publicizing the work done by SGA.
Department of Academic Affairs
Academic Affairs represents & encourages students in their academic journey at Louisiana Tech. As a department of SGA, the bridge the gap between Administration & Students by bringing them together for events. Academic Affairs promotes student success & academic achievement by means of the annual “Who’s Who Among Students” banquet, which recognizes the top graduating students in the university.

Department of Athletic Affairs
The Department of Athletic Affairs works in conjunction with the Louisiana Tech Athletic Department to publicize university-sponsored sporting events. The department promotes student participation in university-sponsored sporting events and plans events to bring the LA Tech school spirit to life at Athletic events.

Department of Campus Activities
Student Activities engages with various students organizations and the student body by hosting events such as Dog Haul and SGA Week. Student Activities also aims to engage with organizations each year by attending different organizational meeting and invite them to come and speak at SGA meetings for publicity and and perspective sake.

Department of Community Service
Community Service coordinates projects that connect SGA to the community. This department is responsible for planning Big Event, which involves the entire student body. The Community Service Department also works to notify the student body of service opportunities.

The Department of Diversity and Inclusion works to cultivate equity within SGA as well as cultivate relationships with underrepresented organizations on campus. This department’s goal is to build bridges between the Student Government Association and other groups on campus to improve campus life and the college experience for everyone attending Louisiana Tech.

The Department of Elections facilitates campus-wide student elections for Student Government, Homecoming Court, and polls the student body on a quarterly basis to see what concerns students have and how SGA can help better serve students and their needs.

The Department of Internal Affairs promotes a positive and collaborative community within SGA; encouraging members to get to know each other better, so they can serve the student body better. Duties of this department include planning SGA Retreat, coordinating SGA co-ed intramural teams, and making Tuesday meetings more fun.

The Department of Public Relations is a bridge of communication between Louisiana Tech’s Student Government Association and the student body it serves. Department of the Tech Leadership Council
Tech Leadership Council is an organization of first-year students that works closely with SGA in order to learn leadership, public speaking, and collaboration skills in order to prepare them in roles within campus and outside of campus. The TLC Department plans meetings and events for the TLC members, and is also involved in the selection process of TLC Confidants, who work individually with groups to help them learn and grow throughout the year.
