Committees of the 85th Student Senate
In the 85th Senate of the Student Government Association, there are five main committees that serve different functions. Each Senate Committee consists of student senators who have specific experience in a certain area of legislative matters.
Senate Student Experience Committee (SSE)
The SSE shall be responsible for the handling of legislation pertaining to the student experience on campus. This legislation will pertain to issues such as Academic policy, athletics, technology and IT services, dining services, and student fees.

Senate Campus Improvement Committee (SCI)
The SCI shall be responsible for the handling of legislation pertaining to the improvement or modification of campus infrastructure. This committee shall meet regularly with those parties deemed necessary to grasp fully the current status of current or possible campus improvement projects.

Senate Rules Committee (SRC)
The SRC will be responsible for the creation of all amendments to the SGA governing documents to include the Constitution and Bylaws of the SGA.

Members: Sen. Colby Boyd, Sen. La’Dereka Christian, Sen. Caroline Clifton, Sen. Ian Golsby, Sen. Tyler McMullan, Sen. Walker Pearson, and Sen. Oghenemine Regha.
Senate Appropriations Committee (SAP)
The SAP will be responsible for hearing and approving or denying Senate matching funds request as submitted to the SGA Treasurer. The SAP shall also carry out all investigations pertaining to the SGA quarterly budget.

Senate Oversight Committee (SOV)
The SOV will be responsible for carrying out Senate investigations, overseeing internal issues pertaining to the Student Senate, and the carrying out of impeachment proceedings originating in the Student Senate. The SOV will ensure compliance with Senate rules and procedures in coordination with the SRC. Five members from this committee shall be appointed to the Subcommittee on Elections IAW Article VI.1. Election Code of the SGA Bylaws.
