Cutting has started! The new car is being cut out. Our Styrofoam router is large enough to fit the entire length of the car in a single cutting session. This image shows the first rough cut of the interior. It still has to have a finer pass and then flipped over for an external shaping.
The 2012-2013 season has begun! With three old cars and a new one in store, we have a busy year ahead. The general interest meeting showed an incredible amount of interest from freshman. The picture is of the room before everything really gets started.
For the next couple of weeks, a lot of sanding and bodywork has gone into HotRod. The picture shows our team sanding the body after body filler had been applied to the needed areas.

ThunderDawg is a go!
Also at the end of January, ThunderDawg was carbon fibered. The first layer carbon fiber turned out pretty well and got a second layer of carbon fiber with larger weave for more strength. The picture shows our team applying carbon fiber to the outside of ThunderDawg.
