Here is a picture of the bottom of HotRod after being carbon fibered. The carbon fiber turned out great!
A few days after finishing gluing together the two halves of HotRod, the body was carbon fibered. We carbon fibered the top and then flipped over the body and carbon fibered the bottom. This process took us about two days to complete. The adjacent pictures show team members carbon fibering the bottom of HotRod.
It is so exciting to see the car start to take form! Here is a picture of the two halves of HotRod joined together.
In mid January, after the outside of the vehicle was cut out by the foam router, the top and bottom of the car was glued together. The joining of the halves went smoothly. This pictures shows the two halves separated and about to be joined together.
The HotRod urban vehicle has two wheel pods on either side of the front of the car where the wheels are housed. The wheel pods were cut in two separate halves on the foam router. After these two halves were joined, the team carbon fibered both wheel pods in mid January. We were very impressed with the results of the wheel pods. They came out great!
